what we did

When X Runner decided they wanted a new ‘monkey bar’ feature on one of their obstacle courses they got in touch with us. However these were no ordinary monkey bars, they had to float on water too! XRunner hired our team and used our equipment to build their vision. We knew immediately this was a job for our Prolate S36R trussing. It’s a compact truss with a high loading capacity. Trussing, however, is typically used for static weights. However, we had to consider the kinetic load (people climbing on the truss), stability (as the structure floated on water) and its load bearing properties (supporting 10 people at one time). Health and safety were of high concern so we employed a structural engineer to check over the structure to ensure it was safe for the race participants. We are pleased to say our trussing did the job perfectly and the Xrunner team have continued to use them.
