Jual Media approached Stage Connections to provide full sound, lighting and AV support for The Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons’ (ALSGBI) annual meeting. From the initial talks with Jual Media, we knew immediately this event would be a tricky endeavour. With the audience needing to watch and interact with surgeons in 3 live theatres across 2 independent hospitals, careful planning needed to be made with the correct equipment considered.
We used our Panasonic PT-DZ21K projectors to deliver HD projection across three 5m wide screens. Several other HD displays also had to be rigged around the venue and a video monitoring system for the presenters, show caller and crew. This was achieved using the matrix function of the Christie Spyder X20 which allowed for all output displays to be independent from one another.
For the sound, power and clarity was paramount. A compact Electro-Voice line array system was used in conjunction with a Yamaha LS9 32 Digital mixing console. The Yamaha LS9 console was actually used to its full capacity, with all 32 ins and 16 outs!
