Top Tips For Planning Your Next Live Event

Live event production is a huge undertaking – and it can be difficult to know where to begin. With so much to think about, it’s important that you make sure you carry out in-depth planning of equipment, logistics and more for your event.

At Stage Connections we have a huge amount of experience running live events across a variety of sectors. We understand the importance of planning, which is why we’re on hand to offer some valuable advice for preparing your next event! See some of our top tips to help things run smoothly on the day:

1. Understand Your Venue

Do you know how much space you have to work with? Are there enough electrical points to run all of your equipment from? Is the area indoors, outdoors or a mixture of both environments? Understanding your venue’s capabilities (and its limits) is vital for ensuring a successful live event on the day. Investing in flexible staging solutions is a great idea to cater for this, allowing you to have a stage designed specifically for the area that you have available – ensuring that you make the most of the space you have.

2. Invest In Experienced Crew

You can’t anticipate all of the issues and challenges that might arise on the day of your event – particularly if you don’t have a lot of experience in running a live show. By investing in an expert crew you can get the peace of mind from knowing that your event is in the hands of an experienced team who are highly knowledgable in running live performances. A professional crew can adapt under pressure to any situation that may present itself. The crew will also have the experience to identify challenges before they become an issue and resolve them prior to any impact on your event.

3. Bring Backup Equipment

It’s important that you have additional equipment on standby in case of any accidents or malfunctions. A comprehensive equipment package will ensure that there are multiple functioning set-ups, allowing you to switch in equipment as needed and guarantee a seamless transition of microphones, speakers and more to be substituted as needed.

4. Be Prepared For All Weathers

You can’t control the weather, so make sure you plan for all eventualities! Your stage and set equipment will need to be suitable for outdoor use and operate in a variety of conditions, or you should make alternative venue arrangements in the event of a downpour.
